Foreign Exchange

  • Spot Foreign Exchange Transactions

Buying and selling of foreign currencies against the Egyptian Pound and other major currencies at competitive rate and delivered within two working days after the date of transaction.

  • Forward Foreign Exchange Transactions

Buying and selling of foreign currencies against the Egyptian Pound and other major currencies, at a certain future date and at an agreed price. A forward transaction allows corporate clients to eliminate exchange rate risk.

  • Foreign Currency FX Swap Transactions

This transaction combines a spot sale with a forward purchase (or vice-versa) at the same time. Accordingly, corporate clients can convert one currency to another and then reverse the transaction with no exchange rate risk.

Governmental Debt Securities – GDS

Attijariwafa bank is considered one of the top 5 active primary dealers in both primary and secondary market for Egyptian Governmental Debt Securities; we are able to trade debt securities on behalf of our corporate, institutional and retail clients

  • Treasury Bills

These are short-term debt instruments issued by the CBE (central Bank of Egypt) on behalf of the Ministry of Finance. T-bills are issued in the primary market on a weekly basis with maturities of 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. Minimum amount of EGP 25,000 and its multiplies.

  • Treasury Bonds

These are medium to long-term debt instruments issued by the CBE (central Bank of Egypt) on behalf of the Ministry of Finance. T-bonds are issued in the primary market periodically with maturities of 3, 5, 7 and 10 years. Minimum amount of EGP 1,000 and its multiplies.

There is a secondary market activity that takes place every day for buying and selling these governmental debt securities to invest in these instruments or generate liquidity from these instruments.
